Wiesje van der Flier, PhD, discusses the essential role of cognitive assessments in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. She describes the domains of cognition and cognitive trajectories in Alzheimer’s disease and discusses the use of comprehensive cognitive assessments, including building a full neuropsychological battery to assess all cognitive domains, alongside assessment of function and behavior. She also discusses the role of telemedicine in cognitive screening. She then discusses the cognitive assessment results from the patient case.
